It's Raining

I am the mom of 5 including a set of triplets. I am a mom with a small, inconsequential benign brain tumor that gives me headaches, suppressed with a wonderful drug called Topamax. I am a mom with a wonderful husband who is working through a series of stressful situations- of all kinds. We are, above all, children of the most High God.

Oh, that You would bless me indeed,
and enlarge my territory,
that Your hand would be with me,
and that You would keep me from evil.

My church did a series on living like you were dying for the past 4 weeks. I want to say that it's had no effect on me, and it really has not until this week. This week has brought the walls down.

I don't want to get into details because I don't want to offend anyone, but life is so short. We don't know the number of our days. My friend Kristy's son Asher lived for 35 minutes, and my Great-Grandma lived into her 90's. Most of us live in between those numbers, but only God knows the exact number.

My point? We should not get hung up on the small stuff. We learned that during the power outage. It's not about the laundry. It's not about the kind of songs we sing at church. It's not about how clean the floor is, or the kind of dress we wear. It's about the relationships we have with the people we care about. It's about our family, our friends, our Christ-family.

Please mend your relationships before it's too late and you no longer have open contact. It always weighs on you, no matter how much you think it does not bother you, it does. It's poison. There are three people that I am thinking about right now that I wish I could mend a relationship with. One of whom I plan on talking to right now, and 2 I can't. I can't because of extenuating circumstances. Please make sure that you never, ever let a relationship deteriorate to the "extenuating circumstances" part. Don't let it. Life is too short.

What a great reminder!

I had two of those relaitonships. One I fixed a few months ago and the other seems beyond repair no matter how hard i try. At least I feel guilt-free for doing my best to repair it.

Thanks so much for such an honest post!
